Reform Judaism brings the teachings of Jewish tradition to life by nurturing individual Jews, sustaining congregations and groups that foster authentic community, and shaping a shared destiny for Reform Jews with fellow Jews around the world. We do so with the conviction that a Judaism frozen in time cannot effectively communicate with contemporary people.
The goals of Reform are to achieve equality, liberty, and opportunity for all by addressing the needs of today. Reform also seeks to ensure that all persons, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, or social status have the opportunity to participate in the Jewish community.
In addition, Reform strives to create opportunities for all to engage in Jewish prayer and learning through programs that nurture individual Jews and congregations and groups that foster authentic community. And, by providing for the advancement of Jewish study, Reform strengthens the ability of Jews to contribute to society in the fields of science and technology, education, healthcare, the arts, and other fields.
When it comes to international issues, attitudes among Reform UK voters stand apart from both the wider public and Tory voters. For instance, the majority of Reform UK voters (78%), think that ordinary working people do not get their fair share of the nation’s wealth – a figure more than 20 points higher than among Tory voters and two and a half times higher than among the general public. In addition, the large majority of Reform UK voters (86%) want small boat migrants to be immediately removed from the United Kingdom and prevented from ever returning – which is significantly higher than Tory and overall voters.
